G322 Global Biogeochemical Cycles field trips to Mickey Hot Springs
Sveriges Television (SVT) is the Swedish public service television company.  The educational branch filmed a documentary at Mickey Hot Springs about Dr. Tomas Hode and the type of work that we do in the Cady Lab.  Dr. Hode co-founded the Swedish Astrobiology Network (SWAN).
The laboratory component of G322 is comprised of a weekend field trip to Mickey Hot Springs to collect microbial mat and sinter samples and perform geochemical measurements of the water chemistry.  The students then prepare their samples for examination on the light microscope and the SEM.  Individual projects culminate in presentations and reports.
